Rental Policies
We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time on the water. Please review the following policies before booking.
Age & Experience Requirement
The captain/driver must be 25 years of age or older with prior boating experience. You’ll demonstrate docking and knowledge of waterway rules during your safety orientation. A valid government-issued photo ID is required at check-in.
Florida Boating Safety — SB606
Per Florida law, any person born on or after January 1, 1988 must carry proof of completion of an approved boating safety course to operate a motorized vessel. Please bring your Florida Boating Safety ID card or an approved equivalent. A valid boating safety license from another state is reciprocal. Our team can advise you on approved courses if needed.
Wind Policy
Rentals are subject to cancellation or rescheduling if sustained winds exceed 19 mph. We monitor conditions closely and will contact you as early as possible if your rental is affected. Safety on the water is always the priority.
Boundaries
Our rental boats are approved for use within designated areas of Pensacola Bay and the Santa Rosa Sound. Captains will review approved boundaries during your orientation. Boats may not be taken into the Gulf of Mexico.
Day of Your Rental
Plan to arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled departure time to complete your safety tutorial. The tutorial covers vessel operation, waterway rules, USCG required safety equipment, FL SB606 requirements, and area maps including marked anchorage spots for Sand Island and Fort McRee. Rentals depart on time — late arrivals may forfeit their booking.
On the Water Rules
To keep everyone safe and our fleet in top shape, the following apply to all rentals:
- No towing of any kind
- No nighttime driving — all boats must return before dark
- No smoking or grilling onboard
- No glass containers
- Boats must remain within designated boundaries and out of the Gulf of Mexico

Do I need a boating license to rent a pontoon?
Florida does not require a traditional boating license, but state law (SB606) requires anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 to carry proof of completion of an approved boating safety course to operate a motorized vessel. If this applies to you, bring your Florida Boating Safety ID card or an approved equivalent. Prior boating experience is required — you must be comfortable docking and navigating waterway rules before renting.

Is there a fuel charge?
Yes. Boats go out with a full tank and fuel is charged based on consumption. You’ll fill up at a nearby marina before returning. Our team will walk you through the closest fueling options during your orientation so you’re not hunting for a marina on your way back.
Can we bring food and drinks aboard?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring a cooler, snacks, and beverages for your time on the water. Please no glass containers — if we find evidence of glass on the boat, a minimum $50 fee applies. Please drink responsibly — operating a vessel under the influence is illegal and dangerous.
Can we take the boat into the Gulf of Mexico?
No. Our rental boats are approved for use within Pensacola Bay and the Santa Rosa Sound only and may not be taken into the Gulf. Your captain will review the approved boundaries during your pre-departure orientation.
What happens if it’s too windy?
If sustained winds exceed 19 mph, your rental may need to be rescheduled or cancelled for safety. We monitor conditions closely and will reach out as early as possible if your rental is affected. If we cancel due to weather, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to rebook.
What if we return the boat late?
Please plan to return on time out of courtesy to the next rental group. Late returns may be subject to additional charges. If you think you’re running behind, call us as soon as possible.
Are the boats dog friendly?
Yes — well-behaved dogs are welcome aboard! We just ask that you bring a towel or blanket for them and clean up after them.
