Every fall, the Blue Angels come home. After a season of air shows across the country, the world’s most elite flight demonstration team returns to NAS Pensacola — their home base — for the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show. It’s a different kind of show than the summer Blues Week performance. The crowd is different, the energy is different, and for those who watch from the water, the experience is completely different from anything you can get on the beach.
Frisky Mermaid runs Blue Angels viewing cruises on both days of the 2026 Homecoming — Friday, November 6th and Saturday, November 7th. $69 per person. 1pm departure. Here’s everything you need to know.
About the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show
The Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show takes place annually at Naval Air Station Pensacola — the birthplace and permanent home of the Blue Angels. Unlike the summer Blues Week show at Pensacola Beach, the Homecoming show is held on the NAS Pensacola flight line, giving spectators a different perspective on the performance as the jets take off, land, and maneuver over the bay and Sound.
The 2026 Homecoming Air Show runs Friday, November 6th and Saturday, November 7th. Gates at NAS Pensacola open to the public for the show — admission is free. The Blue Angels typically perform their full air show demonstration on both days, beginning in the early afternoon.
November in Pensacola is genuinely beautiful for an outdoor event. Temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s during the day, cool evenings, and the kind of clear Gulf Coast sky that makes every maneuver visible from miles away. It is one of the best weather windows of the entire year to be on the water.

Why Watching From the Water Is the Best Seat in the House
Most people watch the Blue Angels from the beach or the NAS flight line. Both are great. But there is a perspective you simply cannot get from land — and that’s from the water.
When the Blue Angels fly their passes over Santa Rosa Sound and Pensacola Bay, they come in low over the water before pulling up into their maneuvers. From a boat on the Sound you are directly underneath those passes. The jets are close enough that you can see the canopy detail, feel the sound move through the air before it reaches your ears, and watch the wake turbulence trail off over the water behind them. It is a fundamentally different experience from watching the same maneuver from a beach chair.
And when the formation banking turns bring the six jets into a bank directly over the Sound — the kind of shot that fills a phone screen edge to edge — you’re not zooming in from the beach. You’re right there.
Our captains know the flight patterns from years of running Blue Angels cruises. They position the boat for the best views on each pass and keep guests informed on what’s coming next so nobody misses a maneuver. It is not an accident that our Blue Angels cruise is one of the most reviewed experiences on the Frisky Mermaid fleet.

Make It a Full November Weekend
The Blue Angels Homecoming falls on one of the richest weekends of the Pensacola fall calendar. Two other major events run simultaneously — which means November 6–8 is genuinely one of the best weekends of the year to be in Pensacola.
Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival — November 6–8, 2026
One of the premier outdoor fine arts festivals in the Southeast, held at Seville Square in downtown Pensacola. Artists from across the country display and sell original work across three days of exhibits and live demonstrations. Admission is free. Combine a Blue Angels cruise in the afternoon with a morning at Seville Square and you’ve built a full November weekend without trying very hard.
Foo Foo Fest — October 29–November 9, 2026
Pensacola’s signature arts and culture festival runs through November 9th — overlapping with the entire Homecoming weekend. Performances, exhibitions, culinary events, comedy, and film across the city throughout the week. If you’re in Pensacola for the Homecoming show, Foo Foo Fest gives you an evening and morning program to build around.
Dolphin Cruise the Morning Before the Show
The Homecoming cruise departs at 1pm — which leaves your morning wide open. A shared dolphin cruise on the Frisky Mermaid departs at 9:35am and is back at the dock well before noon. November dolphin sightings are consistent — the pods stay in Santa Rosa Sound year-round and the fall feeding season keeps them active through November. Start the day with dolphins, end it with the Blue Angels. That is a Pensacola Beach day worth making the drive for.

Plan Your Homecoming Visit
Book early. The Blue Angels Homecoming is one of the most anticipated events on the Pensacola calendar and our cruises fill up. Both November 6th and November 7th are available — book your preferred day now before spots are gone.
Where to stay. Pensacola Beach hotels fill up for Homecoming weekend — earlier than you might expect. If you’re planning to stay on the beach, book accommodations well in advance. The Hampton Inn, Hilton, Holiday Inn Resort, and Portofino Island Resort are all within a short drive of the Frisky Mermaid dock. See our hotel proximity guide for exact distances.
Getting to the dock. We depart from 715 Pensacola Beach Blvd — behind Shaggy’s Bar & Grill on the Sound side of the island. Parking is available across the street and at Casino Beach near the Beach Ball Water Tower. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your 1pm departure.
November weather on the water. Expect low-to-mid 70s during the day with cooler evenings. A light jacket or layer is recommended for the open-air portions of the cruise. The Sound is typically calm in November — one of the smoothest ride windows of the year.
Already planning to watch the fall practice sessions? The Blue Angels are still practicing through October before the Homecoming show. Book a fall practice cruise and make the Homecoming the finale of your Blue Angels season.
