Pensacola Beach Snorkel Tour
Grab your mask and fins — we’re taking you where the marine life is. This guided shallow-water snorkel adventure explores the artificial reefs of the Santa Rosa Sound and Naval Live Oaks, man-made reef structures specifically designed to attract marine life. The results are impressive: colorful fish, crabs, rays, and sea creatures visible in calm, clear Gulf Coast water just beneath the surface.
Your USCG licensed captain provides a full snorkel orientation before you enter the water and stays with the group throughout. The water is shallow and calm — typically 3 to 5 feet deep — making this tour perfect for first-timers, kids, and anyone who’s always wanted to try snorkeling but wasn’t sure where to start. Adult snorkel equipment is included — mask, fins, and instruction. Bringing little ones? Please bring their own snorkel gear as we carry adult sizes only onboard. Basic swimming skills required.

Secluded Beach Stop + Dolphin Cruise + Snorkel
Why choose between dolphins, snorkeling, and a private beach when you can have all three? This tour takes your small group out through the Santa Rosa Sound in search of Pensacola Bay’s resident bottlenose dolphin pods, stops at the artificial reef for a guided snorkel session, then drops anchor at a secluded beach that’s only accessible by boat. No roads, no crowds — just white sand, clear Gulf Coast water, and your group.
Swim, shell hunt, wade in the shallows, or just sit on a stretch of beach that most Pensacola Beach visitors never find. It’s a three-stop adventure that packs dolphin watching, underwater exploration, and a private beach visit into a single half-day on the water. All ages welcome. Adult snorkel gear included — please bring gear for children.

Seas the Half Day — Dolphin Cruise + Snorkel + Sand Island
This is Frisky Mermaid’s most popular all-in-one water experience and one of the top-rated activities in Pensacola Beach. Your group cruises the Santa Rosa Sound searching for dolphin pods, stops at the artificial reef in Naval Live Oaks for a guided snorkel session, then heads to Sand Island — a pristine barrier island beach on the Gulf Coast with no roads, no facilities, and no crowds that’s only reachable by boat.
Hunt for fossilized shark teeth and seashells, swim in crystal-clear Gulf water, or walk a stretch of deserted beach while your captain shares the history of the Pensacola Lighthouse and Fort Pickens visible in the distance.
It’s genuinely the best way to experience everything Pensacola Beach has to offer in a single morning or afternoon. Do I need snorkeling experience to join a tour?
Not at all — our snorkel tours are designed for all skill levels including complete beginners. Your captain provides a full snorkel orientation before entering the water and all tours take place in calm, shallow water — typically 3 to 5 feet deep — at the artificial reef in the Santa Rosa Sound. If you can swim, you can snorkel with us. Kids love it too. Will we see dolphins on a snorkel tour?
Dolphin sightings are part of the cruise on most of our excursions. Pensacola Bay and the Santa Rosa Sound have a healthy resident population of bottlenose dolphins and our captains know exactly where to find them. While wild dolphin sightings can never be guaranteed, our success rate is very high. Federal law prohibits swimming with, feeding, or touching dolphins — we watch and admire from a respectful distance. What should I bring on a snorkel excursion?
Bring sunscreen (reef-safe preferred), a hat, sunglasses, a towel, and water shoes or sandals with a back strap. A light bag for your belongings works well. If you’re bringing children who want to snorkel, bring their snorkel gear. Snacks and additional drinks are welcome aboard — no glass containers please. What happens if the weather is bad?
Weather decisions are made at the gate by our captain and crew on the day of your tour. If conditions are unsafe for snorkeling or on the water, we will contact you in advance to reschedule or issue a full refund. Gulf Coast weather can change quickly — we always prioritize safety over departure.Which excursion is right for my group?
A quick guide: if you want a focused snorkel experience, book the Pensacola Beach Snorkel Tour. If you want dolphins plus a beach stop plus snorkeling in one trip, book the Secluded Beach Stop excursion. If you want the full Pensacola Beach experience with Sand Island included, book Seas the Half Day. If you have a larger group or want a full six hours on the water, Seas the Mermazing Day is your best option.
